《導火線》乃導演葉偉信與國際動作巨星甄子丹繼合作《殺破狼》及《龍虎門》後，再次迸發男性剛強味道的2007年度動作大作，再加入型男古天樂、動作演員鄒兆龍及久休復出港產片的呂良偉，以及運用了MMA(Mixed Martial Arts)格鬥技作為賣點，令人熱切期待。
葉偉信與甄子丹合作無間，《導火線》可算是《殺破狼》的前傳，甄子丹扮演的重案組沙展馬軍疾惡如仇，與臥底探員華生(古天樂飾)一起調查以呂良偉為首的越南幫三兄弟，結果馬軍與華生因行動意念不同，令鏟除越南幫的事件引起了爭端……
以硬橋硬馬的真功夫示人，包辦動作設計的甄子丹繼續創造新動作元素，與《生死格鬥》鄒兆龍進行連場的對打，至於動作和打鬥場面，硬橋硬馬、拳拳到肉的真功夫一直是甄子丹的特式。片中還有中國首位花旦范冰冰飾演華生的女友，以及實力派的鄭則士和羅蘭助陣，令全片動作場面之外更添戲味。

Pre-1997, a hero's story. One man; one car; tearing down the road like a flash of lightening. The man; Jun Ma, Detective Sergeant, Serious Crimes Unit.
