古靈精怪的13歲女孩嘉茜（《非常小特務2》艾曼莉奧士），與家人剛剛搬到新城市居住及上學，卻一直無法適應新生活；嘉茜以作弄別人為樂，她的弟弟麥斯也難逃一劫。萬聖節前夕，嘉茜在一間神秘雜貨店裡得到一本名為〈惡魔〉的書。嘉茜不理書中警告：「切勿朗讀故事」，應麥斯要求給他讀出這個恐怖故事；而書本的最後一頁，更清楚列明：「不要想起那頭惡魔」，可惜一切經已太遲……

For 13-year-old goth girl Cassle, fitting into a new school and town isn't easy, but she entertains herself by playing pranks on the " popular" kids and her little brother, Max. As Halloween approaches, Cassle's search for scares leads her to a mysterios Halloween store and an unusual book called The Evil Thing. When Max begs bher to read the book to him, Cassle finally gives in, ignoring the warning "Do Not Read Aloud". But it's when they get to the last page of the book and its clear warning about the Evil Thing - "Don't Think About It" - that the spooky adventure really begins
